Metalfilms specialises in the metallization of film and paper, wound on reels, using the process of Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD)
This process consists of placing the reel of film (such as OPP, BOPP, CAST, LDPE, MDPE, HDPE, PET, PVC, PS, OPS, CPP, PC, PA, NYLON, paper, card, carbon fabric, glass woven fabric, non-woven fabric and biodegradable films inside the metallizer where the high-vacuum metallization takes place. As the film unwinds, it passes over a specific roller, under which evaporators are positioned which heat the aluminium to the required temperature for evaporation.
The thickness of the aluminium deposited on the film typically ranges from 100 to more than 350 Angstroms: less than 30mg of aluminium per square metre.
Metalfilms uses a system of advanced checks to continually monitor the quantity of aluminium deposited in order to guarantee quality.
Once the metallization is complete, the reels are rewound and if necessary, cut to obtain the desired width. Thanks to its machines which support widths of up to 2400mm, Metalfilms offers custom solutions for various industrial applications.
